English Champagne Tap
$189.00
A late 19th century English Champagne tap with a turned wooden handle and nickel plated steel valve assembly. It was used when only a glass or two of Champagne was needed from a full bottle. On this one the sharp end was pushed through the cork and then the needle shaped piece was withdrawn using the wooden handle leaving the valve assembly in place. The needed Champagne was then poured from the bottle through the valve which was then closed preserving the bubbles in the rest of the bottle.
