A pair of French wrought iron plant stands dating from the second half of the 19th cent. They are typical of the type made in the city of Arras in northern France. During the 19th century the area was famous for the number of shops making garden furniture of this type. Pairs dating from this period are difficult to find.They are in excellent structural condition with a pleasingly weathered surface of mostly green paint with hints of underlying white showing through. They were found near Reims.

Rare Swedish Cast Iron Plant Stand

An extremely rare Swedish cast iron plant stand with a cast iron frame which will accommodate seven pots over a drip tray and planter consisting of a zinc pan with cast iron decoration on its perimeter. It is made in three parts: the upper pot holder, the tray, and the footed base. All of the parts retain its original green painted surface which has uniformly oxidized to a wonderful mat finish. It is the only known form of this type in cast iron and may be a unique surviving example.

A period Napoleon III cast iron garden table dating from the middle of the 19th century. The cast iron is very ornate and is in excellent condition with no cracks or damage. It probably retains its original green paint with slight gold highlights which is unusual in that these tables are usually found with several layers of later paint. This table was probably used inside for most of its life resulting in its amazing state of preservation. It was found in Paris.

With the original chains, this planter is glazed in a deep yellow ochre and shows a geometric paneled rim supported by a trio of male heads with green leaf beards. The bowl terminates in a leaf pattern knob. Impressed Hornberg mark. Chains: 20"L. Glaze wear on the noses of two of the figures and on the point of the bottom knob.
