Pair of antique Staffordshire black and white dogs, circa 1860. The Disraeli Spaniels were made in parody to Queen Victoria's prime minister, Benjamin Disraeli. He had curls across his forehead, and the Staffordshire potters made dogs to look like him. They are quite rare and among the most highly collectible and sought after of the Staffordshire dogs. No maker's mark. Light wear, crazing, usual Staffordshire firing flaws.
