We chose a coffee table with a removable tray that can instantly serve up drinks to guests, along with upholstered X benches that you can rearrange at a moment’s notice.
A grid of maps along with an abstract print (all in black and white) are a nice complement to the color and pattern mix below them.
Narrow trays can keep your drawers from becoming a bottomless pit. Designate individual pieces to the particular contents. One holds candles, another remotes or keys and loose change.
Select an edited combination of artwork and personal photos for a curated look. Lean the larger pieces against the wall for a relaxed feel.
Off-season, a fireplace can be like a black hole in your living room. But add some eye-catching objets, like a classic bust and a large piece of coral, and you’ve created a gorgeous display. See more Fireplace Decorating Ideas>>

The reason this plethora of pillows looks like an invitation rather than an invasion? Carefully selected colors and scale. The blue-and-cream palette is soothing, and a mix of squares and rectangles ensures you can still see the sofa.
Consider filling a small corner near a window or a French door with a flowering plant. We used jasmine, which allows color, texture, and a sweet scent.
