Located at 158 Franklin St. in NYC, Steven Alan’s first foray into the home world is what you would expect from a designer who has honed his brand’s classically cool aesthetic. The white, airy space offers a well-edited mix of products including rugs and kilims from Kea in Brooklyn, furniture from Garza Marfa, ceramics by Shino Takeda, gardening tools, notebooks, textiles, and more. A major highlight of the new space is the furniture collaboration with local maker Jason Pickens, producing made-to-order sofas in customized fabrics. Much like Alan’s clothing stores, his new home shop is one that will leave you wanting to come back time and time again to see what new treasures might be in store.
There’s a certain element of surprise, as the product will change frequently. Going in you won’t necessarily know what you’re going to find, but you’ll always want to take something home.
