Here’s a look at what we’re loving from around the web this week…
Tour an Airy, Pattern-Filled Apartment in Milan
Textiles designer Ida Corti and her husband were looking for a new space to live, a blank canvas on which to show off their vibrant collection of far-flung furnishings, antiques, and art. What they found—or happened upon, rather—was a warehouse in need of full renovation but brimming with potential. After a major overhaul, which included raising walls and hand-painting floors, the blank canvas was turned into a personalized, eclectic haven where family heirlooms live harmoniously alongside colorful textiles and minimalist pieces from Ikea.
Set a Beautifully Moody Fall Table
We’re in love with this tablescape, which combines dark colors with rustic details for a look that feels fully fall. It’s a moody mix, bringing together wares including speckled stoneware, linen napkins, and gold flatware with natural elements such as apples, pomegranates, and a few sprigs of berries. But the inspiration doesn’t end there. Don’t neglect the recipe made for this shoot: pumpkin pancakes with caramelized rosemary nuts and an apple compote. Sounds like the ingredients for a delicious cozy autumn brunch.
Peek Inside a Minimalist and Serene Home in Melbourne
A home should be a place to relax: This was the overarching idea behind the Melbourne residence of the Folks, a husband-and-wife entrepreneurial duo contributing to the renewed sophistication of Australia’s culinary scene. Inside, natural textures such as marble and a mix of woods meet a stunning collection of artwork and unique antiques. We say it’s the perfectly calm respite away from the busyness of the working world.
Make an Apple and Goat Cheese Flatbread
One of our favorite parts of fall is the beautiful bounty of apples available at the farmers’ market. They’re a kitchen staple for the season, lending themselves equally well to dishes salty and sweet. A Cup of Jo blogger Joanna Goddard tapped the cook behind A Saucy Kitchen for a recipe of the savory variety that we can’t wait to test out. The best part? It needs only five ingredients.
See Inside a Chic, Feminine Office Makeover
While her old space was lovely (we took a tour of it here!), L.A.-based designer Sarah Sherman Samuel decided it was time to give her office an update. Her creative projects run the gamut, including collaborations with Target, J.Crew, and here at One Kings Lane, so she needed a larger space to accommodate her growing business. Inside, a backdrop of white hosts a lovely light pink sofa, neutral accents, and a healthy dose of brass—a chic spot we could easily see ourselves working in too.
