A decorative horse brass on its original leather strap made in England at the end of the 19th century.  Drayage horses were used by most workmen and shop keepers in that time period and it became the vogue to proclaim how successful a merchant was by the amount of brass ornaments on the horse pulling his wagon.  This one is in very good as found condition.  Due to the large number of reproductions, it is important to find brasses with their original leather straps insuring their age.

The finial, which has been salvaged from the demolition of an early 19th century French home, has been fitted with a custom base and wired for us usage using all brass fittings and premium cloth lamp cord.  The shade is premium natural parchment.  Height below is to the top of the finial, height to the top of the socket is 20".

A pair of floor lamps made from American 19th century cast iron street lamp posts. The posts have been fitted with wooden bases and custom carved finials which have been painted to match the cast iron's patina. They are in excellent working condition and fitted with new custom parchment shades. Shades measure 24" D bottom, 13" D top, 16" height. Height below is to the top of the finial, height to the top of socket is 62.5".

An early 20th century English mantel clock with a broken arch pediment typical of the Edwardian period.  It is a delux clock in all respects with a Santa Domingo mahogany case, five color satinwood inlaid decoration, hand painted porcelain face, brass feet, finial and face bezel, heavy beveled glass face cover, and a premium jewled French brass movement.  It is in excellent working condition having been professionally restored in England.

A late 19th century English sterling silver caddy spoon in the form of a dust pan.  Spoons of this style were used to scoop bulk tea from a canister of caddy, hence the name.  In the victorian period is was popular to make these spoons as miniature representations of larger items.  This one has a very ornate handle and engraving on its sides.  There are hallmarks on the scoop.  It is in very good condition with only minor usage wear (see photos).

A rocking chair in a red painted surface with yellow and black decorations.  It is in untouched, as found condition and should be considered as a folk art sculpture given its exceptional lines and proportions.  It is no longer useable as a chair given the fragility of its original splint seat.  Found tucked into the underside of the seat was a label "Moses Wiley Bangor Maine" see photo. Found in a home on the coast of Maine 50 years ago, it has remained in a collection till now.

A rare and wonderful Napoleon III period weather house (ca1860). A weather house attempts to predict the weather by monitoring humidity. The figure of the soldier appears at the door in good weather, the maiden with her parasol appears in rain. This is a "best" example with all original paint and decoration. The predicitive mechanism is probably not operational.  Condition is very good with only minor wear and a small chip to the maiden's parasol.  It was found in Paris.

Pair of French pewter Abstinthe spoons dating from the end of the 19th century. Absinthe, a liquor made from wormwood with supposedly hallucinogenic properties was banned in many countries at the beginning of the 20th century; accordingly, Abstinthe related items are difficult to find. The spoons were used to support a sugar cube over the top of a glass; water was slowly drizzled over the sugar and the resulting sugar water mixed with the liquor in the glass. Minor age wear.

A period French naval officer's bicorn hat dating from the Napoleon III period, circa 1860 It is in excellent condition made of wool with extensive brass braide a perfect naval button and a tricolor rosette. It bears the mark "BL Marque Depose". It is accompanied by a pair of heavy brass epaulettes. The three pieces are in their original paper lined wooden box. A true time capsule. Found in Paris.The box measures 21.5" x 7.25" x 8", the hat 17" x 7" x 5.25, and the epaulettes 7.5" x 5" x 2.5".

A very large and extremely rare spouted pot probably used in a monastery to pour wine.  It is made of fired clay and dates from the second half of the 20th century.  This type of pottery with a bright yellow glaze and manganese speckled decoration is traditionally found in the east of Belgium near the city of Liege.  It is in overall very good condition with only minor age wear.  An opportunity to own a true one of a kind item.
