Why We Love This

This abstract work has an elegant, formal composition. The elliptical shapes alternate between yellow and blue, with the black lines stop and begin again in a rhythmic pattern. Presented in a white wood frame. Born in Sydney, Australia, Bernard Dunaux studied art in Paris before moving to the United States in 1981. From his Los Angeles studio, Dunaux has developed a visually harmonious style, applying energetic brushstrokes against fields of soft color and using bright colors to highlight negative spaces. His work is regularly exhibited at galleries throughout Los Angeles and, most recently, was showcased in the 2012 Los Angeles Art Show.
