Why we love this

Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon (1707-1788), was a French naturalist whose works influenced the next two generations of naturalists. He published 35 volumes of his "Histoire Naturelle," establishing him as the father of natural history in the second half of the 18th century. This is a set of two fine-art giclée reproductions of antiques held in the William Stafford Archives.
