Steven Sclaroff, designer and vintage dealer, has been plying his craft and wares in NYC since 1999. His eponymous Tribeca shop is a perfect showcase for his eclectic style--unpretentious, willfully imperfect, comfortable, and just a little wry. "For this sale I put together a bunch of things I like-- from my store, props from shoots, and samples from product design. I like the mix of western and eastern, modern and traditional, and serious quality stuff and great pieces of junk."
Lalique crystal "Pinsons" bowl originally designed by René
Lalique in 1933. Underneath a perfect orb of pure lead crystal, lies a design sculpted onto a pattern of vertical zig-zags and bold sparrows. Acid-etched in script "Lalique France" on base.
