Artists Mike Russo and Sheri Sinclair created Ocean Park Pottery. Mike is a functional ceramicist, Sheri is a sculptor working in ceramics. Together they collaborate on sculpturally functional ceramics. Their material is a mid-range ceramic (cone 5) porcelain and earthenware. Mike primarily throws on the wheel, Sheri alters these pieces, twisting, curving and sculpting them into new forms. They then work together to create surfaces for the pieces, experimenting with glaze layering and mixing. They share our love of ceramics with urban youth at Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), where they donated their studio, and where Mike continues to teach.
