A vintage, plate-signed color lithograph by Marc Chagall printed in 1969 on fine paper. Pulled directly from the lithographic stone and plate-signed by the artist, this lithograph contains classic Chagall imagery: a circus equestrian, lovers, and an artist's palette. Custom frame. Russian by birth, Marc Chagall was educated in St. Petersburg and Paris, eventually emigrating to France in 1923. Although influenced early on by Russian Expressionism and French Cubism, Chagall created a style that was unique to the 20th century. His mastery of color suffuses his paintings and prints as well as the stained glass work that he created for European cathedrals.
