A 1979 graduate of the University of California in aesthetic studies and fine art photography, I have spent many years photographing the California mountains and coast. I met Ansel Adams in 1979 at his Carmel studio and have been collecting California plein air paintings since 1986. I offer a wide variety of artists and genres and hope you enjoy my passion for paintings and sculpture.
Why we love this
Bright and cheerful abstract depicting mountains on a summer day by Erle Loran (American, 1905-1999). Erle Loran was a modernist of urban-coast views and geometric painting. Loran, who was fascinated by Cézanne, painted the countryside around Aix en Provence and wrote the book Cézanne's Composition in 1943. In 1954 Loran studied with Hans Hofmann in New York. Loran's students at Berkeley included Richard Diebenkorn and Sam Francis.
