Why we love this
The mountain hummingbird from John Gould's Family of Hummingbirds. Hand-colored stone lithograph finished with gum arabic, published in London, 1850-1861. The plate was carefully removed from one of the original bound volumes. Text, information card and a presentation mat are included. Gould's work was greatly admired by Queen Victoria. Plate, 14"L x 21.25"H.
