Part of a long line of artists, Linda Colletta studied at Parsons School of Design and spent the next 16 years collaborating with some of the biggest names in music and television as a set designer, prop stylist, and scenic painter. After the birth of her son, she began a freelance career in visual merchandising and graphic design before taking up painting full-time. Her work pays homage to nature; mountains, moons, clouds, rain, and bubbles are recurring motifs, speaking to the relationship between the ephemeral and the eternal. Painting quickly and in many layers, Colletta waters down her paints, embracing drips, smears, and other happy accidents to reflect nature's unpredictability. Allowing her medium to speak for itself, Colletta evokes feelings of unbridled expression, pure freedom, and unapologetic happiness.
