Venetian artist-inventor-designer Mariano Fortuny founded his revered textile company in 1919. Produced in Venice, Fortuny has only one other showroom, which opened in New York in 1928. How these stunning textiles are created is a tightly held secret, now kept by the Riad family, who purchased the company in 1988.
