A 1986 graduate of Christie's Fine Arts of London, I headed the fine art department of a West Coast auction house before opening my own gallery. Each painting I represent is selected with care. I believe fine art to be an integral part of life, illuminating both our vision and our values for our children. As time passes, our paintings become heirlooms, enriched with our shared memories. Many things come and go. Art abides. - Anthony McNaught
Why we love this
A period figural watercolor of a woman seated and gazing towards the viewer. Signed lower right, "Ament" for Janet Ament de la Roche (American, 1916-2000), a listed artist and painted circa 1955. Ament studied in Paris with André L’Hote at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. She exhibited widely and with success, including at the Salon d'Automne at the Grand Palais and the Museum of Modern Art, Paris and the San Francisco Museum of Fine Art. Unframed.
