Why we love this

A playful and delicate image of a circus performer standing on a horse. This limited-edition work was printed directly from stone lithograph plates. It is set off in a hand-finished wood frame in gold leaf with decorative corner detailing. Features a double mat with gilded bevels and a protective acrylic glaze.
Russian by birth, Marc Chagall was educated in St. Petersburg and Paris, eventually emigrating to France in 1923. Although influenced early on by Russian Expressionism and French Cubism, Chagall created a style that was unique to the 20th century. His mastery of color suffuses his paintings and prints as well as the stained glass work that he created for European cathedrals.
