Why we love this

This unique rug was purchased in 1980 at Santa Fe landmark Packard's on the Plaza, which closed in 2013. Distinguished Navajo weaver Rachel Curley (1921-2000) created this colorful pictorial rug and added a whimsical Coors beer delivery truck in the design. The size is larger than most pictorials, and considered a creative design for this customarily serious legend. She was known for the fineness of her textiles, the native wool was often not larger in diameter than sewing thread. Rachel Curley created what is considered the finest and largest Two Grey Hills rug ever woven in 1960; it is permanently displayed at Notah Dineh Trading Company in Cortez, Colorado.
