Inspired by the natural world that surrounds her studio in California’s coastal mountains, artist Dawn Wolfe uses handmade and found papers to create beautiful, three-dimensional collages. Incorporating materials such as vintage wallpaper, hand-watercolored paper, and prints of vintage kimono patterns, Wolfe assembles each of her works by hand. This tactile process brings a sense of balance to the artist, a digital marketer by day. Wolfe often creates custom pieces, transforming personal mementos and keepsakes into one-of-a-kind works of art.
Why we love this

Destined to enliven any wall, this work from artist Dawn Wolfe uses a range of colors and a simple concentric circle motif to stunning effect. To start, Wolfe uses photographs of local surf spots and beaches and then breaks the colors down to create the palette for each piece. Each piece is named for the beach photo it came from and is made using print, spray, and paint. This work is set in a white wood frame and arrives ready to hang.
