Haptic Lab is a small design studio in Brooklyn known for its heirloom-quality quilted maps of cities and neighborhoods made in partnership with fair-labor partners in India, as well as handmade kites made in collaboration with Balinese artisans, DIY kits, rugs, and more. The word "haptic" refers to the sense of touch, and everything it designs is meant to inspire meaningful connections through that sense.
Why we love this

Hand-stitched and crafted to last generations, this heirloom quilted map of New York City takes around one hundred hours to produce. The map area extends from Central Park to Battery Park, and includes parts of North Brooklyn and Long Island City.
