Why we love this

This vibrant work is an original acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas by James "Squeakie" Stone. Arrives ready to hang.

A self-taught artist from the rural South Carolina Lowcountry, Squeakie creates nostalgic paintings that portray a simpler way of life. He draws inspiration from childhood memories, a time when he often worked in tobacco and cotton fields. Like many self-taught artists, Squeakie did not start creatively painting until later in life, encouraged to do so by his Uncle Henry "Squirrel" Stone, a folk artist. He became a full-time artist in 2007, and his paintings have been acquired by collectors in the U.S. and abroad.
