A native of Brazil, acclaimed San Francisco-based interior designer Antonio Martins has an uncommon global vision. He started his career in Switzerland, where he acquired an appreciation for European design. From Switzerland he moved to Venice, to Frankfurt, then to Hong Kong in the early 1990s for 11 years, where he became immersed in Asian arts and cultures, from Chinese furniture to Shan sculpture from Thailand to Indonesian textiles.
Why we love this
Pair of Chinese export famille rose armorial porcelain two-handled sauce boats with the arms of Fluyder. Each of oblong quatrefoil cross section, with black ground kidney-shape armorial and grisaille winged bar. Fully restored by an artisan. Handles in one piece are reconstructed. One handle of the second piece is original, but restored.
