Why we love this
Japanese wood hibachi with gilt lacquer and inlaid mother-of-pearl decoration of gold strawberry leaves and red strawberries. Circa 1900. Small gold butterfly accent on back. Hibachis were used throughout the house to provide warmth and tea, now they're often used as planters. No maker's mark. Oxidized copper liner. Some wear to gilt enamel.
