Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this

A remarkable, fascinating collection of archived photographs documenting the palatial country houses of the British aristocracy and the people who lived and worked in them from the 1850s to just before the Second World War.
