A native of Brazil, acclaimed San Francisco-based interior designer Antonio Martins has an uncommon global vision. He started his career in Switzerland, where he acquired an appreciation for European design. From Switzerland he moved to Venice, to Frankfurt, then to Hong Kong in the early 1990s for 11 years, where he became immersed in Asian arts and cultures, from Chinese furniture to Shan sculpture from Thailand to Indonesian textiles.

Pair of pieces composed with black Sumi ink on handmade Indian paper. Floated on cream linen and displayed in a new black frame. Signed "JM" by John Mayberry at the lower right.
