Why we love this
Set of five shell or fan shaped French porcelain oyster plates, circa 1890-1910. Five wells with oyster eyes fan out from a round condiment well glazed in pink. Two clam shaped wells sit above long, mottled, tapered crossed shells forming the handles. Lovely pale coloring and gilded highlighting. The versos show a hand-painted glazer number. Small nips to the tips of the shell handles, as shown and light gold rub from use. small nips to the tips of the shell handles.
