Why we love this
Oil on board by Philip Rideout (British b. 1850). Rideout was famous for his stagecoach, hunting and horse racing works. Rideout exhibited extensively at the Royal Academy of Painters and the Royal Arts Academy. He was one of the most popular artists in the Suffolk Street Galleries. This work, part of a pair, is housed in its original frame. Signed and dated 1903 lower right.
