Kristi Kohut is a mixed-media artist, designer, and advertising art director. After spending years in the advertising field, Kohut decided to build a studio and create work that unites her passion for art and design. Incorporating non-traditional materials such as embroidery thread, crayons, felt, and magazine clippings, Kohut’s work explores beauty both in nature and culture, examining such themes as the lure of beauty, aging, and the influence of the media. Kohut’s mixed-media work has been exhibited at the River East Art Center and the ARC Gallery in Chicago, IL. It was also awarded the Juror’s Choice at the Chicago Art Open in 2010.
