Iris Apfel has always lived life to the fullest, and at an age when most people would be long retired, she's a nonstop style icon whose unique fashion sense has been celebrated in a show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She and her husband Carl opened Old World Weavers in 1950 and ran it until 1992. Between design projects, Iris has traveled the world, collecting clothing, jewelry, and accessories. Beloved for her maximalist looks, Iris has said, “I think jewelry can change an outfit more than anything else. Transformation, punch, individuality: One or all of the above are why you should wear jewelry.”
