A former resident of France, Chez Marie Antiques owner Marie Badarani is as comfortable living and working in Europe as she is in the US. Into her 14th year as an importer, Marie owes her success to the excellent sources she has cultivated throughout Europe, especially in the Brittany and Normandy regions of France. "My goal is to find quality pieces, in mint condition, at unbeatable prices. Fluency in the language helps me achieve that goal."
Why we love this
French artist, Gaston Le Bail, is known for taking traditional antiques and giving them a modern twist. This 19th-century Louis-Philippe chest is painted in modern shades of taupe and mandarin with blue and white porcelain knobs. The top was left in natural wood. Le Bail works from his artist's studio in Brittany, France and exhibits throughout the country.
