Why we love this
The Centaur by John Updike. NY: Knopf, 1963, First printing. Updike's fascinating third novel, in which he imbues the everyday life of a school teacher with mythic significance, comparing him to the wounded centaur Chiron, of Greek myth. Apart from a small chip to jacket back and some faint discoloration to book boards, this is a very good copy of a now extremely scarce book.
