Why we love this
The Making of Americans by Gertrude Stein. New York: Something Else Press, 1966. First printing of Complete Version. First published in Paris in 1925, having been edited by Alice B. Toklas and a young Ernest Hemingway, this seminal work was largely unavailable in the US, until this ground-breaking edition was published forty years later. A classic piece of modernist writing, that has been compared to Joyce's Ulysses in its scope.
