Why we love this
Savrola, A Novel, by Winston S. Churchill. New York: Random House, 1956. This youthful work first appeared in 1897, when Churchill was only 23 years old. This is the first edition in the US and is interesting for its insight into the future statesman's mind. He is already obsessed with the development of fascist-style government and the techniques of warfare, although he disguises the action as a kind of romantic saga, set in the mythical republic of Laurania.
