Why we love this
English Victorian coromandel wood lap desk embellished with gilt-bronze hardware and painted porcelain plaques. Circa 1870. The box unfolds to reveal three sections with several compartments for photos, letters, and keepsakes. Retains the original glass ink bottle. The interior leather is in excellent condition and is accented by gilt-bronze trim. Bronze tag inside: "J.A. Simpson & Co. 154 Regent Street London." Minor wear to wood on back.
