Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this
D.V. by Diana Vreeland. Knopf, 1984. First edition, third printing. 196 pages. Includes jacket. The high-octane memoir of the most influential figure in 20th-century fashion. Unsurprisingly, her writing is forthright, crisp and unsparing. Minor wear to jacket.
