Made on the shores of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, this blanket is woven on a traditional Mayan backstrap loom using thick, soft cotton. colored with locally sourced natural dyes, and finished with macramé fringe and long tassels. In order to make a throw this wide, three individual panels were handwoven and then connected with a “randa” stitch. This blanket takes four days to dye, weave, and hand stitch together. Due to the handmade nature of this piece, variations in color, tone, and pattern may occur.
