Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this
Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Illustrated by Reginald Birch. Chas. Scribner's 1889. 209 pages with 26 illustrations. Advertisement section in back. An early printing of the Hodgson classic with the original Birch illustrations. Age wear to cover; inside very good with minimal, light tanning and foxing.
