Why we love this
A six-well majolica glazed oyster plate by S. Fielding & Co. Ltd., Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1878. Turquoise oyster wells surround a center condiment well, all on a molded bed of chocolate brown seaweed. A deep yellow nautical rope border encircles the center well and the outer rim.The verso is glazed in a watery ‘oyster gray’ with six raised scallop shell shaped feet.Reference: pg. 45, Karsnitz and pg. 29, SnyderExcellent antique condition, a light overall crazing.
