Why we love this
A superb Scandinavian bentwood tine box, early 19th-Century with beautiful old paint. Swedish tine boxes or svepask are hand made with a thin piece of steamed bent wood laced together with tree root, usually birch. The sides have 2 posts cut with notches to hold the lid on. They are also called snap boxes because they make a 'snap' sound when closing. No maker's mark.
