In 1985, a New York movie executive began buying antique English and French furniture, art, crystal and porcelain. Moving to Los Angeles, she added California pottery and Asian porcelain. The Emporium Ltd. was born out of that first collection. She still buys only what she would want in her own home. Her philosophy is simple: "Always buy a piece you love. You'll find a place for it. But if you didn't love it at full price, don't buy it on sale. It won't withstand the test of time."
Why we love this
One of the most coveted Hermès scarf designs, Tohu Bohu references numerous games as it spells out the address of the iconic Hermès flagship store in Paris. Here, as a pleated scarf in a brilliant jewel-tone colorway against a dramatic jet black background. Designed by Claudia Stuhlhofer-Mayr in 2004. Care tag attached. Presented in its round orange Hermès gift box, designed by the company expressly for their unique pleated scarves, with a Hermès booklet about how to tie them.
