Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this
Miro by Jacques Dopagne. Leon Amiel Publisher, 1974. First edition. Unpaginated. Includes jacket. 88 color plates. Monotone drawings in the biographical section. A fine introductory overview of the work of the great Spanish surrealist artist, including some sculpture and ceramic pieces. A lively, colorful book in a compact format. Some wear to jacket, otherwise excellent.
