Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this
The National Gallery of Art, Washington by John Walker. Abrams, 1974. 696 pgs. 1120 illustrations (1028 full color). With jacket. From medieval art to Matisse, this magnificent volume conveys the grandeur and wide ranging scope of the national collection. Other than a few spots to the cover and a slight corner bump, condition is near perfect.
