Oil on board painting by Margaret Fisher Prout (b. 1881), the daughter of artist Mark Fisher. Prout studied under his tutelage at Slade School and exhibited at the New English Art Club in 1897. Exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy and between 1921 and 1964 at the Royal Academy. Elected member of this academy in 1948. Housed in its original frame. Signed lower left and dated 1949. Provenance and gallery label on verso.
