Why we love this
Late-19th-century brass seated Liberty plaque with the words "Republic Francaise." This is the depiction of Liberty that was adopted for the statue. These signs were present on public buildings where notary services were available. Marked by the maker: "G. Fortin, Paris." Found in Paris. Age wear. Overall weathered patina with some minor wear around the mounting holes.
