Welcome to Prints with a Past. Since 1997 we have shared our love of original antique and vintage prints with our clients. The business grew out of our enjoyment in antiquing while living in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and collecting prints for our home and to give as gifts. We take great pride in presenting a diverse selection of original engravings and lithographs from the late 1700s through early 1900s, and sharing the story about each one. —Your hosts, Nancy and Dick Bossler.
Why we love this
Set of six collector cards distributed by Gallaher's Cigarettes in England in 1938. The cards feature scenes at the races including colorfully dressed jockeys, their horses and the "Tic-Tac" men (the bookies using secret hand signals to communicate odds on a race). Conservation matted to fit a standard frame size. Each card: 1.25"L x 2.25"H; overall: 11"L x 14"H. Includes a narrative on the history of the English cigarette card and copy of the text on the reverse side of the card.
