Welcome to Prints with a Past. Since 1997 we have shared our love of original antique and vintage prints with our clients. The business grew out of our enjoyment in antiquing while living in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and collecting prints for our home and to give as gifts. We take great pride in presenting a diverse selection of original engravings and lithographs from the late 1700s through early 1900s, and sharing the story about each one. —Your hosts, Nancy and Dick Bossler.
Why we love this
Original 1880s chromolithograph print from "Parrots in Captivity," the definitive work on tropical birds by W. T. Greene published in the late 1800s. Based on an illustration by the British naturalist artist Alexander Lydon. Shown is the Eclectus Parrot, a bird native to the Solomon Islands, New Guinea and nearby islands. Conservation matted to fit a standard-size frame. Image, 6"L x 9"H; overall, 12"L x 16"H. Includes a certificate with additional information, and accompanying text pages.
