A 1979 graduate of the University of California in aesthetic studies and fine art photography, I have spent many years photographing the California mountains and coast. I met Ansel Adams in 1979 at his Carmel studio and have been collecting California plein air paintings since 1986. Why we love this
Striking portrait of a beautiful spaniel done in charcoal signed "Lee" on cardboard on verso. Circa 1913-1917. Displayed in a distressed vintage black wood frame with mat. Label on verso. Exhibited: Founded by Adolph and George Newman in 1865, Newman Galleries opened its first location at 806 Market Street. Then moved to 1704 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia (1893-1918) and continued our tradition at 1732 Chestnut Street (1918-1935). Image, 11"H x 13"W; frame dimensions 17"H x 19"W x 1"D.
