Batten Road was born in the ‘70s when a crazed book-lover returned from college to work in Soho at one of the country's (world's??) most famous Art & Architecture bookstores. To feed the addiction (and rent), she quickly picked up two other jobs so the love affair with books need not end. Eventually, the addiction grew to hunting for wonderful decorative accessories, furniture, tabletop and lighting.
Why we love this
The Short Novels of John Steinbeck. London: Wm. Heinemann, 1957. 3rd printing of the British first edition. 568 pp. With dust jacket. Other than the Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck's short novels, presented here in one volume, comprise some of the best-loved work of this American Nobel Laureate. Titles include Tortilla Flat, The Red Pony, Of Mice and Men, The Moon Is Down, Cannery Row, and The Pearl. Wear to jacket. Light page tanning.
