Why we love this
A Japanese Satsuma porcelain, crescent shaped oyster plate, circa 1875-1895. Beautifully hand-enameled in the raised moriage technique, five oyster wells and two smaller cockle shell wells are decorated with patterns of sea life, florals, and geometrics. The off white ground has a pattern of floating, olive green and gold leaves. The dimensional mold is freely lined with gilding.Excellent antique condition, a teeny flea bite to the rear rim, more felt then seen.
